Hosts Bekescsabai suffer setback
On Monday night reigning Hungarian champions Linamar Bekescsabai RSE resumed their 2016-2017 women's MEVZA Cup campaign with a 1-3 (23:25, 26-28, 25-16, 23-25) home loss against 1. BVK Bratislava.
Last year's silver medal winners lost for the second time, while the Slovakian side celebrated a first victory in their fourth match. The win takes 1. BVK Bratislava to the seventh spot of the current standing on four points. Bekescsabai gave away the chance to draw level with the currently championship leaders and titleholders Calcit Ljubljana. Slovakia's national champs have not dropped a point in the four matches they have contested so far.
The women's competition will continue on Tuesday night in Bekescsaba with the clash between 1. BVK Bratislava and VK UP Olomouc of Czech Republic.
