MEVZA Junior and Youth Championships

Between December 28 and 30 both the MEVZA Junior Championships (Kecskemet, HUN) and the MEVZA Youth Championships (Maribor, SLO) Boys and Girls will take place. Both with extraordinary participation.

The participants of the Girls\' competition are born in 1994 or later. The defending champion is the team of the Czech Republic who was able to win the title in 2010 followed by Austria, Slovakia and Hungary.

In the Boys\' competition which will take place in Kecskemet the participants are born in 1993 or later. Also in this category the team of the Czech Republic is the defending champion, while Slovakia finished second followed by Austria and Hungary. Besides the aforementioned four nations also the team of Slovenia will participate in the competition.

MEVZA Youth Championships in Maribor
Girls born in 1996 or later will compete in the MEVZA Youth Championships in Maribor The qualification round will be played in two groups. Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary will face each other in Pool A. In addition to those three nations of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association also Israel, who is not a MEVZA member, will compete in Pool A.

The same holds for Pool B where the MEVZA nations Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia as well as a team from the Netherlands will fight for a place in the semifinals.

In the Boys\' competition (born 1995 or later) six teams will fight for the title in Maribor. They will play each other in the main round and the two teams ranked first and second will face each other in the final on December 30. The participating teams are Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia and Austria.
