Austria and Czech Rep. capture titles

Sara Montagnolli and Barbara Hansel have won the Women's competition of the Middle European Championship in Baden. The Austrians defeated the Czech duo Hana Klapalova/Lenka Hajeckova 2:1 (21:16, 17:21, 15:10). The Schwaiger-Sisters took the Bronze Medal with a 2:0 (21:15, 21:11)-win against Erika Fabjan/Simona Fabjan. "We wanted to win. Thanks for the support. We needed that, especially after the second set", said Sara Montagnolli after the win.

Martin Tichý and Jan Dumek from the Czech Republic are winners of the Men's competition. They had a hard fight against the top seeded Florian Gosch/Alex Horst en route to a 2:1 (13:21, 21:19, 16:14)-win in the final. Clemens Doppler/Matthias Mellitzer beat the Slovaks Peter Varga/Matej Hukel 2:0 (21:15, 21:12) to capture Bronze. - RED
