ACH Volley wins top game

The MEVZA duel between MEL-Leader Hypo Tirol Volleyballteam (AUT) and pursuer ACH Volley Bled in Innsbruck on Saturday ended with a 3:2- away win for the Slovenes. Head Coach was still content after clinching the top of the regular season table.

The Tyroleans started young setter Lukas Weber who didn't miss a minute and did a good job. Alexander Berger, another young player was subbed in for Gabriel Chocholak in the third set and finished with 14 points. Zoltan Mozer, who also was subbed in the third set, had a comeback after shoulder surgery.

ACH Volley Bled won the first two sets by 25:21 and 25:16. Hypo tyrol then answered by taking the next two by 25:20 and 25:18. But the Slovenes eventually prevailed in the final set 15:10. Both teams played all players while performing strong before their Champions League match, coming up Wednesday 3rd of March.

Peter Kleinmann president of the Austrian Volleyball Federation laid emphasis on the strong performances of the MEL-clubs one of which will make it to the Final Four (10th/11th of March, Lodz) in Champions League play. "With two teams making it to the Top six the Middle European League is the most successful in Europe', said Kleinmann.

Winless season for MOK Zagreb
MOK Zagreb finished it's MEL season with another 0:3 loss at croatian rival HAOK Maldost. The bottom team suffered 16 straight losses this season.
