Important win for SVS Post

In Women's MEL four games of the 17th round were played this weekend.

Leader Zok Rijeka KVIG (CRO) as expected had no problems on Saturday against bottom team Vital Ljubljana and got a 3:0 (25:13, 25:14, 25:18)-win. In that shape the Croats are clear cut favourites to win the title.

Kamnik wins at Zilina
Calcit Kamnik (SLO) got a 3:1 away win at next to bottom ZU Zilina (SVK).

Wildcats beat Maribor
ATSC Sparkasse Klagenfurt (AUT) had to fight hard for a 3:2 (16:25, 25:19, 20:25, 25:21, 15:4)-victory against Nova Brnaik Maribor (SLO) in their last home game. 'It was a conciliating ending for us. We managed to beat one of the better teams. We didn't play well in the first. After that it was slugfest. One could see that Maribor wanted the victory bad. My team showed great morale', said Klagenfurt-chairman Josef Laibacher.

Important win for SVS Post
Austrian champion SVS Post celebrated a clear 3:1 (25:18, 25:23, 19:25, 25:9)-win at home against VK Dopratsv Bratislava (SVK). "It was a hard fought game from the start. After a rally in the second and third sets the guests couldn't make another push. In the fourth we closed out the game with a 4:0 start', said SVS Post's Peter Eichstädt.

In the last game of the regular season SVS Post travels to bottom team Vital Ljubljana. With a win against the Slovenians they could fix the Final Four-win at last.
