Maribor strikes twice at home

This weekend games of the 12th and 13th round were played in Women's MEL. Fourth placed Nova Branik Maribor (SLO) collected two home wins on Thursday and Friday. ZOK Rijeka KVIG (CRO) got ins eleventh victory of the season on Saturday at ATSC Sparkasse Klagenfurt (AUT). For Calcit Kamnik (SLO) a four game winning streak ended against third placed VK Slavia UK BRATISLAVA (SVK).

Nova KBM Branik Maribor (SLO) didn't lose a set in it's two home wins on Thursday and Friday. The Slovenians had no problems beating VK Dopratsv Bratislava (SVK) und last placed Vital Ljubljana (SLO). Maribor is fourth on the table after winning nine of twelve games this season.

Rijeka comes up strong in Klagenfurt
ATSC Sparkasse Klagenfurt (AUT) suffered a 0:3 (14:25, 17:25, 16:25)-loss in 61 minutes on Saturday against ZOK Rijeka (CRO). "Rijeka is in a class of it's own. We did a good jab, but couldn't make the "big points'. Rijeka's block was unsurpassable for us. It was a perfect demonstration', said Klagenfurt's chairman Josef Laibacher. Rijeka's middle blocker Petra Kramolc had a great night scoring 19 points, 12 of them on blocks. Klagenfurt had to play without injured players Elena Kaaden und Birgit Wüstenhagen.

Slavia Bratislava beats Calcit Kamnik
VK Slavia UK Bratislava (SVK) celebrated a 3:1 (25:22, 25:20, 21:25, 25:12)-win at Calcit Kamnik (SLO) on Saturday. Five Bratislava players scored double figures in the win that puts the fourth Placed Slovaks in a good position to got to the Final Four. After it's seventh loss of the season Kamnik seems to be out of the race.
