Kamnik stopps Maribor's winning streak

Three games of the 11th round were played this weekend in the Women's MEL. Calacit Kamnik stopped the six-game winning streak of Nova KBM Branik Maribor with a dramatic 3:2 -victory in the Slovenian derby.

Maribor got a 2:1 lead in sets in front of 150 spectators, but Kamnik secured it's surprising fourth win with a strong finish. Maribor still retains it's second place, while Kamnik is still next to last.

Doprastav strong in Klagenfurt
ATSC Sparkasse Klagenfurt (AUT) suffered a crunching 0:3-defeat against VK Doprastav Bratislava (SVK). "It was a close game. Doprastav had the advantage at the end of every set. We led by 20:17 in the third, but couldn't come away with it. We've been a little bit unlucky with our blocks. We still can build up from a performance like that', said Klagenfurt-manager Josef Laibacher. Doprastav has six wins now, while Klagenfurt could only win three out of 11 games.

Ljubljana still has to wait
Ten games into the season Vital Ljubljana still has to wait for the first victory. The Slovenes lost by 2:3 at ZU Zilina (SVK) this Saturday. It was just the third win for the seventh placed Slovaks in 11 games this season..
